SINGLE MOM DATING: HOW TO GROW UP AND GET OUT OF YOUR FEELINGS [ANGER]

Hurt people. Hurt people. Period.

When your children’s father or ex-husband rejects, mistreats, disrespects or abuses you, the ugliest side of you can come out to play—but only if you let it.

You see, you have a choice.

You can choose to be angry, allowing your anger to dominate your thoughts, emotions, and actions—or, you can choose to get your grown woman on.

The choice is yours and yours alone.

SINGLE MOM DATING: HOW ANGER EATS YOU ALIVE:

If you choose to continue to wallow in anger, think about how it’s not only affecting your life but also the lives of your children:

  • Anger prevents you from giving the best part of you to your kids
  • Anger keeps you bitter
  • Anger steals precious moments from your children
  • Anger fills your heart with darkness and poison
  • Anger steals your peace and robs your joy
  • Anger gives your child’s/children’s father power and control over you
  • Anger prevents others from seeing your inner beauty
  • Anger keeps others from experiencing your love and light
  • Anger prevents you from receiving and giving love

SINGLE MOM DATING: WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRY?

Do you know why you are so angry and why you have been for so long? Are you angry at him for doing whatever he did to you—or are you really angry at yourself for allowing it? Did you see the glaring warning signs but chose to ignore them? Did you give more to a man, who didn’t deserve your love and attention, than you should have?

Only you can answer those questions. Take some time for introspection. Answer those questions honestly and then own it.

SINGLE MOM DATING: WHY YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND AND OWN YOUR ANGER

By understanding what is making you so angry, you can start to work on the core issue. Once you do that, you can begin to let go of the anger and move toward forgiveness—for him and yourself.

Don’t get me wrong; this is no easy task. Trust me. I know I’ve been there.

So take some time to marinate on what’s at the core of your issue with your children’s father or ex-husband and check back next week for Part II, where I share my history of unforgiveness, and how I conquered it and how you can, too.
